Oil on canvas by the Chilean painter Alejandro Jamett, depicting a view, from a large, ancient archway, of a street and its pedestrians. The architecture suggests an old European city. The artist composes the painting with a fascinating interplay of light and shadow, in which the large archway becomes a second frame, allowing light to filter down towards the viewer. The work has a wooden frame carved in relief and painted a luminous gold.
