A beautiful rug originating from the East Caucasus, specifically the Shirvan region of Azerbaijan. While often marketed as "Russian rugs" due to Russia's historical past and influence in the Caucasus region, its origin and weaving tradition are Azerbaijani. Esta alfombra hecha de lana anudada y teñida a mano, tiene un diseño que showcasing the "boteh" motif (also known as paisley) of polygonal or diamond-shaped medallions and stylized animal and human figures. This beautiful piece boasts a palette of intense and contrasting colors, with an indigo central medallion, along with red, violet-blue, white, and brown.

*The piece was woven between 1965 and 1970.
