Shiraz Persian rug, wool, double medallion, 180x220

Beautiful Shiraz Persian rug, of Iranian origin, hand-woven by the nomadic tribes of Qashqai, in the villages around the city of Shiraz. Although the designs may vary, they often feature simple geometric motifs, such as rhombuses, and angular bird representations symbolizing happiness. In this particular piece, we see a central double medallion design in shades of red and blue with white and yellow details, surrounded by a red garden area with floral motifs. Finally, one of its borders is predominantly white, creating a counterpoint to the red and framing the inner fabric.
