DESCRIPCIÓN
Beautiful rug, of Pakistani origin, Buckhara. The name comes from the ancient city of Bukhara in Uzbekistan, which was a cultural and commercial center on the Silk Road. The original carpets were associated with the Turkmen people who inhabited the region. Today, this carpet-making tradition continues in Pakistan and Afghanistan, maintaining the craftsmanship of handweaving and dyeing with plant-based dyes. This particular piece features a distinctive design with repeating motifs, often called "elephant's foot," in a geometric arrangement. Red, white, and black are the predominant colors.
