French Louis XV style cylinder secretaire late 19th century

An extraordinary late 19th-century French secretary desk in the Louis XV style, featuring exquisite marquetry. It boasts a beautiful bronze balcony and an original Brèche Aleppo marble top. Inside, it has a drop-leaf black leather cover, four drawers, and a shelf compartment. The exterior front features three lower drawers and a large drawer at the base. Beautiful gilt bronze handles and locks complete the design. The marquetry deserves detailed description, as the cabinetmaker's work is truly exceptional. The joinery achieved between the woods yields a unique beauty; mahogany, rosewood, fruitwoods, and pine are combined, creating perfect contrasts to form the illustrations on both the sides and the front. We can observe exquisite floral buds and a pair of birds with stringed instruments framed by wreaths of leaves. Its design evokes a uniquely romantic atmosphere. The marquetry also features a two-tone yellow and green fillet border in the center. Finally, as you can see in the photos, it also creates three-dimensional geometric images on its front surface.
