DESCRIPCIÓN

A beautiful pair of Chinese terracotta figurines depicting two ladies of the imperial court. The figurines are glazed with a drip technique using three colors: green, amber, and white. This technique, called Sancai, was primarily used during the Tang Dynasty (618-910 AD). These pieces, possibly of contemporary manufacture from the early 20th century, seek to revive the technique behind this traditional object, used in funeral rites to accompany the deceased in their burial.

Dimensions: 9.5 x 9 x 44 cm high each.

Condition: One of the figures has a restoration in the neck area.
