DESCRIPCIÓN

This European oil on canvas painting by the Polish artist Otto Van Kamecke (1826-1899) depicts a large landscape entitled 'Weimar'. The title refers to the traditional German city, considered a "cultural jewel" of great literary and philosophical importance during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The painting shows a mountainous landscape with pilgrims walking towards the city. The landscape meticulously represents the type of terrain for which the painter became renowned, such as the mountainous landscapes of Switzerland and Bavaria. The painting is framed in carved wood with relief decorations at the corners and painted in elegant gold. The frame also features a plaque with the artist's name and a lamp at the top corner to illuminate the painting.
