DESCRIPCIÓN
A Chilean bronze sculpture made in 1980 by the national meat industry company, it pays homage to the boom period of the Chilean nitrate industry and to the soldiers of the Pacific War. The sculpture depicts a soldier dressed in the uniform of late 19th-century soldiers, posing with his bayonet in one hand and a sling on the other. The piece bears the inscription "1880 CODELCO CHILE THE MINER SOLDIER" on its base.
