Ricardo Florsheim - Mixed media on paper 'Cantina Porteña'
Mixed media on paper by the German artist Ricardo Florsheim Gutzeit (1924-1998), who lived in Chile, depicting a Valparaíso bar and the nocturnal characters who frequent it. The figures, portrayed with exuberance and uninhibited abandon, laugh and revel, crowded together within the painting. The work employs a mixed media technique, predominantly pastel, in shades of yellow and orange. It is framed in a simple wooden frame finished with elegant gold paint.
