While often marketed as "Russian rugs" due to Russia's historical past and influence in the Caucasus region, its origin and weaving tradition are Azerbaijani. Esta alfombra hecha de lana anudada y teñida a mano, tiene un diseño que showcasing the "boteh" motif (also known as paisley) of polygonal or diamond-shaped medallions and stylized animal and human figures. This beautiful piece boasts a palette of intense and contrasting colors, with an indigo central medallion, along with red, violet-blue, white, and brown.
*The piece was woven between 1965 and 1970.
